This year we say goodbye to some very special members of staff who have been part of the Bedgrove Infant family for many years – over 100 between them. Three long term teachers are retiring: Mrs Wreglesworth, our Headteacher for the last 7 years, has been at the school for 29 years altogether. Mrs Gurney has been teaching at the school for 44 years. Mrs Longmate, who has taught here for 37 years, will continue to teach for a few days each week in schools around Aylesbury. Mr Mitchener is leaving us as a music teacher and will return as a private music tutor to individual children at our school.
We held a special assembly to show our love and appreciation for their commitment to the school for so many years. The children prepared songs, poems and cards for them all. We wish them all luck in their new roles and will miss them all.
Christmas Fayre 2016
The Christmas Fayre this year took on a very different approach as it was held straight after school when all children and parents could access it immediately at the end of the school day. As the daylight dropped, the Christmas lights shone which created a very atmospheric feel to this years Fayre.
The main event was the ice skating rink where many children and their parents enjoyed the sensation of skating on ice while the snow machine added a real winter context to the experience.
Families took full advantage of our resident chef and superb kitchen team who provided freshly cooked food during the early evening including the offer to ‘take away’ meals to save cooking on a Friday. The tantalising aromas coming from the dining room certainly drew large numbers to taste the hot meal options.
The PTA and school staff joined forces to provide a lovely evening of festive fun and a successful fund raising occasion, enjoyed by many. Thank you to PTA, staff and all parents for supporting the school once again
