Our School Day
Early Years Foundation Stage
Foundation 1 (Nursery): 3 – 4 years old
woodland animals: Meadow and treetop classes
we offer 15 hour, 24 hour and 30 hour places
8.30am – 3.30pm
- Registration as the children enter the setting
- Free flow activities with access to snack table
- Circle time with phonics, maths, ICT, physical development focus
- Free flow opportunities with Adult Led activities for children to access e.g. fruit printing, obstacle courses, etc. with continuing access to snack
- Tidy up time
- Story and home time for 15/24 hour children
- Lunch time in the dining hall followed by a quiet time (with an option to nap if needed)
- Outdoor play
- Circle time with an introduction to the afternoon activities
- Focus activities such as music, PE, visiting the school library and nature walks.
- Snack time
- Free flow opportunities with Adult Led activities and continuing activities
- Tidy up time
- Story/Singing
Home time back in corners with plenary of the day
Foundation 2 (Reception): 4 – 5 years old
OCEAN ANIMALS: SHARK, WHALE, DOLPHIN AND TURTLE CLASSES
The School day begins at 8.55am and ends at 3.00pm for all children in Foundation 2. Children can come into class from 8.45am to be greeted by their teacher. Gates/doors close at 9.05am and the register is taken. Children are dismissed at 3.00pm. The following timetable is

In Years 1 and 2 children can come into class from 8.45am to be greeted by their teacher. Gates/doors close at 9.05am and the register is taken. Children are dismissed from the back playground between 3.05 – 3.10pm.

Morning Playtimes: Early Years Foundation Stage children enjoy free flow periods during their sessions in school and child initiated play which means that designated ‘playtimes’ are not timetabled for F1 and F2 children. Years 1 and 2 have a 15 minute designated playtime in the mornings.

Assembly times: Whole School Assemblies take place on Mondays and Fridays at 10.15 am
Year Group assemblies happen at other times during the week. Assemblies may focus on any one or more of our 6 Values: Virtue, Aspiration, Loyalty, Unity, Empathy and Self-Respect through a story and discussion or celebrate special days in history or specific religions e.g. Guy Fawkes day, Remembrance day, Diwali, St. George’s day.
